Jim obtained his B.A. from Brock University and his LL.B. from York University (Osgoode Hall Law School). He was called to the bar of the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1980 and has been a successful sole practitioner for over 30 years. His primary focus at present is family law.
He has appeared before various courts (including the Ontario Court of Appeal), tribunals and administrative boards, and has served a term as President of the Niagara Falls Bar Association.
Jim has been active in the local community. He has coached many minor athletic teams, including serving for many years as head coach of an elite baseball team (Niagara Rebels of the Premier Baseball League of Ontario), local rep teams (for the Greater Niagara Baseball Association) and both boys and girls basketball (for the Niagara Falls Red Raiders and at A.N. Myer Secondary School).
Jim and his wife, Charlene, have two grown children. Jim is an ardent advocate of life-long learning who enjoys reading (particularly philosophy and history), sports and music. Jim and Charlene also love to travel.
